Update: Comfort Strap Face Masks are sold-out and are no longer available for purchase.
A couple of months ago I was contacted by a friend to make some masks for their Children’s Urgent Care clinic. After making a batch of masks (you can check out that post here) I started to notice only a handful of designs on the market for face masks. Masks with ear-loops and masks with ties seem to be the most common patterns out there and I just was not happy with those. The ear loops are uncomfortable to wear for long stretches as they rub and scratch the backs of your ears. Ties are better but can be a pain to tie without tying your hair in too. So I sat down with my neighbor and good friend and together we came up with the Comfort Strap Face Mask!!!! I am excited to announce that it is now available for sale right here at Elizabeth Ludden!!
For more colors you can also find them in my Etsy Shop.
Comfort Strap
While designing the Comfort Strap Face Mask I had put together a prototype of the mask with two pieces of elastic sewn together. It was so close to being just right but I couldn’t make the angle of the crown strap fit myself and my neighbor and my husband. I needed something that would fit on anyone’s noggin.
After fiddling and fiddling I finally came up with a way to make a strap that would be comfortable on any wearer!!
Instead of sewing the elastic together to make the crown strap I snapped them together with snaps I use on my cloth diapers!! And thus was born the most comfortable mask available.
Interchangeable Face Covers
Because the straps on this mask are removable you can also buy interchangeable face covers to change your look each day!
Nose Wire and Filter Pocket
In addition, I have now added nose wires to these masks which give a much more comfortable fit to the nose and a filter pocket to boot!
Over all I am so happy to share this item with you all and hope you are all staying safe!!
Happy quarantine!
